Biography – Michael Tiffany Music
Michael’s music journey started in the early 60’s. With the birth of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and many other bands, the fascination with music grew. Fortunately, he had the access to other older musicians at the time. With the guidance of one of them who was at the time playing in a well known local band, his music instruction began.
At the time, he didn’t want to learn out of the music books normally used for instruction. His interest was to learn how to be a lead guitarist and composer. With the guidance of his teacher, he quickly progressed by learning some of the hardest lead riffs at the time. He then progressed to taking that knowledge and applying it for his own use of composing.
While he was learning he would attend rock concerts and with his focus watching how the guitar player played their parts and how they blended with the songs they were playing. As Michael’s talent progressed he formed his first band in high school which lead to many gigs in northern Calif. Then the opportunity to play at the famous Bill Graham’s Fillmore West in San Francisco.
With the influence of many fellow musicians like Jefferson Airplane , Carlos Santana , and Overbrook Express, Michael continued to learn the composing process. After many other bands which came and went, Michael and his family returned to northern California. With another shot at a new band, Michael made the decision to turn to a different music format…. the instrumental.
Influences like Joe Satriani , Eric Johnson, Steve Vie and yes, Eddie Van Halen. That brings us to the present after six solo albums – two with vocal tracks and four instrumental albums the latest Music is Fantasy – Michael continues to push forward with his music.
